It had been a slightly rough day and then night leading up to the day of the "news". I was very anxious. After a long night, we woke up and received a phone call from Dr. Barnett. He started with asking how she had been, appetite, ect.. I just wanted the news. He said with all of the new specialized testing... the MRD number that was 90% on Day 1, 0.01& on Day 8 and now 0%!!!! I couldn't believe it! So awesome. Apparently this testing is fairly new and specific so it is GREAT that there is NO MORE leukemia in her body. She is techncially in "remission" (which she is supposed to be). We are now able to continue with treatment(mon) and start phase 2 (consolidation) which is 28 days long. She will be taking the regular Septra on Mon and Tue, an oral chemo (6mp) for 28 days, receive Vincristine on Day 1 through her port, & MT intrathecally with the lumbar puncture on Days 1, 8, & 15. I hear it's not horrible, but we will see. Every kid is different. Yay for a new phase. That much closer to the end.
